Default Red glowing exhaust pipes. Is it normal?

Someone in here put on "slip-ons". Drove at night , and in the dark saw the pipes by the engine to be glowing red! Is it normal? or too Lean? My dealer said for the 07... you could add slip-ons without any other modifications, because the 07's could compensate and richen the mixture automatically. Does any body's pipes glow red with stock exhaust.

Really...Thanks for your Time and Consideration.

My 07 Ultra glows red at night with stock pipes and you don't have to be stopped. Dealer says it is normal.

I've never seen my 07 Road King's exhaust glowing red. The engine does run to lean at times but I haven't seen it glow yet. Thats with 4000 miles riden.

Normal, it may be. Proper, it is not. It is a sign of an extremely lean condition. If mine ever do that, I would be worried. Thats what turns a chrome pipe blue.

No it should not glow red, it's running too lean. Just think what the inside of the motor must look like! [sm=insomnia.gif]
Take it back to the dealer and get them to adjust the fuel mixture.
