Default My horn fell off!!!

Has this happened to anybody else here? On my '10 SG the rubber mounting vibration dampener came apart. This is the one that is between the horn and the mounting bracket. I got home and found my horn dangling by its wire. Glad I didn't lose it. Looked like the bond between the rubber and steel came apart. I'm sure it's a warantee covered part, but it certainly doesn't give me a warm fuzzy. I wonder if this piece was outsourced to China?

It happen once while riding in a group. The guy that was leading, his horn fell off and everyone started dodging that sucker. It's kinda funny now but at the time there were bikes all over the road tring to miss it.

Happened to me once, my brother once and my riding buddy twice. All 3 of us run/ran the Howard's Hog Horns. All failures happened within a short time of original install and at the same spot...on the mounting bracket that attaches the 2 bugles. The part that broke was a cast aluminum bracket which also has a rubber gasket to dampen vibration. Appears, the cast aluminum/rubber gasket combo doesn't hold up well to the vibration of a Harley! Imagine that! You'd think Howard would come up with a more durable mounting bracket since I'm sure we're not the only ones with this problem considering our group is 0 for 3 with this particular mounting bracket. All 3 of us ride '09 FL's.

My brother and friend both recently ditched the HHH and went with a ProPad horn on their bikes. My friend replaced her's after the 2nd time her horn bracket broke...my brother finally replaced his after his HHH went completely kaput. I, still rock the HHH and will replace it with something else when/if it fails.

when my horn fell off, that told me to check the nuts and bolts on the rest of the bike.
Alot of stuff was getting loose. Don't forget the blue loctite.
