Default Do some Harley's have oil pans and are all dry sump oil systems

My 04 Soft Tail's engine (TC88B) looks very similar to my friends 04 Road King. Appears that his bike has an oil pan. I read that most all Harleys are dry sump oiling systems. He has his service done by Harley dealer. He told me he wanted me to show him were to drain the oil. I took a quick look under and noticed that even though I have been working on cars for 45 years and my bikes his was different enough that we needed a service manual or an owners manual. He has neither. Appears that if someone was not careful they could confuse the transmission with the engine drain. Why does it appear that he has an oil pan drain? Does he also have an oil tank to drain?

Yes, they are all dry sump. The touring bikes have a oil tank too, it's just integrated into the bottom part of the transmission case. Take a look at this thread for a pic.
