I know I might be asking a silly question, but is there a common place to sew on name patches and/or club position patches onto vests and/or jackets? I wasn't sure if there was a "proper place" on the front of the jacket for them.

Thanks!

Carl

If your not in a club. Put the American Flag in its correct position, and the others where ever you want them.

I got two large eagles with the flag being sewn on my jean jacket and my leathers right now.

American flag Placement: lapel flag pin also means patch.

The US Code states "no part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart."

-The US Code does not address the positioning of the flag patch. It is appropriate to wear an American flag patch on the left or right sleeve. When worn on the left sleeve, the union would appear towards the front and the stripes would run horizontally toward the back. When worn on the right sleeve, it is considered proper to reverse the design so that the union is at the observer’s right to suggest that the flag is flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward.

Damn....Now I gotta find where I stashed my old jeans vest...And see how many rules I've broken, organizations I've dissed, events that are not in alphabetical/calender order, HD patches that are overused, and religous covenants I've fractured....All of which I'll be held accountable for at some later time.....

Thanks....

though i've not seen it addressed anywhere, when putting a flag on the left chest, i always go for the flag patch that has the union on the left (closer to the center or heart)

Necessarily, on the left breast or left shoulder but wherever is good too.
