103
#11
The tuner at our dealership told me this past summer that I would save money doing a 103 kit with cams rather than getting a new bike with a 103. He didn't think for the extra money that it cost that U got very much in return...
Cause a new bike with a 103 still needs stg1 and cams if U want to wake them up..

For 2011 Harley has peped up the 103 engine a bit. They run pretty nice right out of the box, BUT anyone have any data on aftermarket mufflers and hi flow air intakes and just what you get out of them for the money spent on these new versions of the 103?
Dyno results tell the story.

Comments welcome.
This is my first post on this forum, by the way. Been around for 8 years, but only occasionally lurked.

I have an SE stage 1 air cleaner with remapping on my Fat Boy Lo and am still on the fence about upgrading to a 103 using the kit.
Is the 103 worth it to upgrade too if I am mostly commuting an hour to work or taking weekend trips.
My dealer is offering the upgrade for around $1300. It's still a lot of money...even if it is a deal

I do all my own work so for me, the answer would be "yes". You'll need re-mapping again. If the $1,300 includes a dyno tune, my answer to you would also be "yes". I believe that you'll be able to feel the difference. While at it, change the mufflers. They don't have to be loud to increase the engine's ability to breathe.
