That's ok, I'll still pull over to the side of the road and fix your bike for ya. All I'll need is a trailer jack to change the tire it's sitting on. By the way, if you look behind me in that pic you'll see my pontoon boat, travel trailer and bmw. What you won't see is the hummer, f-150 or nice house. I'm pretty sure I'm far from broke.

P.S. I paid $2500 for that harley that sum rub who couldn't ride a bike trashed and fixed it to ride myself. I'm all for keeping the american man employed but $95/hour labor to the Harley Stealership is BS and then they give the mechanic chump change for doing all the work. Find an Indy you can trust or do it yourself.

Looks like some of us don't want any friends around here. My Grandfather gave good advice to a man I overheard one day. He said "it is better to let someone think you're a jerk than to open your mouth and prove him correct" Might be good advice here?

Default Got the Service manual...

Picked up the 600 page manual & the 400 page electrical diagnostic too.
Ebay, electronic download $14 (plus $3 to ship you the CD).

Some may not like the manual on the computer but i have a few laptops at home I can turn one into a "Garage Unit"

Also it isn't a big deal to print out whatever I want from the CD...

I will read the basic stuff a couple of times and then go on a "Run" to Discount Auto or one of the other stores to buy a torque wrench and pick up the needed fluids.

Fluids, Plugs, New Heavy Breather Air Filter?

YGTBSM

made almost $400 yesterday doing 1000 mile service.

The Ultra in my avatar had 92000 miles and was dealer serviced one time.

you think?

I had my 10,000 done by an indy for $500 but that included a $200+ rear tire as well.

dude, change the three holes yourself, check the tires and run around the scooter with a torque wrench and save yourself the money for add ons. man effing 10k 20k... blah blah, what they do and what they charge, total rip off.

ive been working on my scooter since i got it. got a manual for the scooter, few wrenches a torque wrench is all you need on these things. they are put together well and last forever if you take care of them.

ive done all the work on mine, everything, never once had to take the scooter in. dude and i hardly have a GED. you seen some to the fella working as a tech, not working for NASA.

For dealers: Low bike sales=higher repair shop prices. Same with cars. They gotta make it up somewhere. Shop around.

I know on the wall in the service dept, it says all the services are $325 and up..

I've personally never had one that ended up being over $250...

dealer did the 1-5-10-15-20K,, I did the 25 and she's ready for the 30 in the spring.
