Thumbs down Leather dye rubbing off on my hands when wet!

Got caught in the rain today. Was less than a mile from my father-in-law's place when it starts coming down. Now my hands are black & blue from the stupid dye in my stupid gloves. Best way to clean this crap off? How do you prevent this from happening to you (besides the obvious "don't get caught in the rain" answer)?

Sorry, I've ridden in the rain with unlined leather gloves and have not had a problem with the dye coming off on my hands. Maybe a better quality glove?

Don't buy Harley's gloves. And yes, I have personal experience.

Buy better gloves: check. Will definitely do that. But my gloves are Fieldsheer, not Harley. Who should I buy? I don't much care for the gauntlet style glove, and I like the knuckle armor like my gloves have. Suggestions?

Yep, the cheap ones always leave your hands black.

Waterproof the gloves with mink oil.

Even the expensive ones will turn your hands black. The only sure bet is to get undyed gloves (http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/...r-p-16818.html) or get a set of waterproof gloves to put on when it rains.

Of course, you can always just get a can of borax or bar of Lava soap to wash your hands after the fact.

When it rains, why dont you just line the inside of your gloves with sandwich bags?
