Default Rain Gear suggestions

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on rain gear. Who makes the best, and what to look for. So far, I'm thinking I want a bright color, because what good is reflective tape, when the jack asses don't even turn on their lights when it's raining? I'm willing to pay a premium, but want quality. I live in southern Louisiana, so it will most likely be hot and rainy.

Is the HD stuff breathable? What about Froggs Toggs? Gore-Tex?

Thanks for your help.

I love my frogg toggs. They were my first set. They dry fast, and roll up nice and small. I like them so much I am getting a set for work. My Mrs is also getting a set of them.

I have the HD high visibility. They are excellent...keep me completely dry and easy to see, however, they don't breath which helps to keep me warm in the mountains but might not be what you need imho.

Default rain gear

Harley Overpass and yes its breathable.

Don't make your decision on cost. When you need to use this gear, you want the gear that is going to keep you dry.

I've had the HD Gore-Tex rain suit for 4 years and love it. Can ride all day in the rain and stay bone dry. The only thing I could never understand is why they only made it in black/grey. Wish they made it in a more high viz color.

I was out riding yesterday in-between the storm, I ended up getting caught in the middle of a down pour (you know how gully-washers are down here) I bought a Coleman rain suit at Wally-World, and I must say I was surprised at the compactness and quality of the suit, it kept me dry.
