Default 72 AMF Shortster rebuild

I recently barn scored a 72 shortster (not Sportster). It is a H-D mini only made for 1 year. It has an Aremacchi engine/trani. 2 stroke, 65cc. I went to MMI so I am not Harley illiterate but the only thing Harley about this thing is the logo on the tank. I could realy use some help from anyone who is familiar with these bikes or Aremacchi engines. I am on fb as John Hooks or reach me at fleshhook666@gmail.com or I'll be checking back here. Also very interested in parts for this bike. Thanks

Just because it's baged HD doesnt mean it will be hard to work on except maybe finding parts.Two-stroke engines are easy to work on.

How complete is the bike?
I would start searching the net for part sorces,forums,etc-.Dont forget CL.

You may want to try to see what the values are on these things before dumping a bunch of money into it!

Good luck with the resto. The coolest ad Harley ever had was for that bike. A Shortster parked next to a big puddle. Reflected back from the water was a Sportster.

Of course this was when the Sporty was still the king macho bike. Somehow in less than thirty years the XL went from being ideal for recently returned vets and recently released felons to being ideal for your middle aged wife to learn on. Go figure?
