Default Heeley Canada Recall Status

I'm looking to purchase an 06 Fatboy. To get into Canada, I need a Recall Status check mede on the bike. Does anyone know of recalls on the 06 Fatboy?

It will need to be a lot more official than that - a letter from HD or Trev Deeley.

Go to your local dealer and ask them for the recall notices for that year. Don't tell them you are importing a bike from the states.

You need the recall status of the bike you are buying. If you are buying from a US dealer they can provide it in 2 minutes by do a seach of the VIN. If you are buying private the seller can get it from a dealer.
Don't wait untill you are back in Canada because Deeley Canada will take weeks to get it for you.

To get bike into Canada, I have to have the recall form completed by Deeley. I need to send them the recall status form, the bill of sale and title to the bike. I'm buying from a private dealer, not an HD dealer. Deeley says the process takes up to 15 days before I can bring bike over. To get bill of sale, I need to purchase the bike which I am OK doing, I just don't want any surprises once I make the purchase and then something happens and it costs me a bunch of extra money. I'm assuming that if there are outstanding recalls that they would be done free of charge by HD on either side of the border??

Why not just save the aggravation & buy a bike in Canada?

I imported two bikes from the US in the past three years the latest was last August and I didn't have to get anything from Deeley.
If you are buying pivate, call a Dealer near there and ask them to do a recall check for you or get the seller to do it. All the dealer needs is the VIN number. There may be a charge for this but it should be small.
When the dealer did mine it took him two minutes to do including print it out.

Money. Bikes are a lot cheaper in the US than they are in Canada, primarily due to the deal HD has with Deeley, who gets to bend Canadians over whenever they buy a bike.

Just imported a Fat Boy in October/10. Called a dealer in Maine, had him run the VIN and he faxed me a copy of the screen print. Sent it off to the RIV and no issues.
