Tire Mileage

I have Dunlops on my Heritage and around 15,000 on back tire and 25,000 on front tire is usual. I have Metzler's on my Wideglide and they usually don't get 10,000 on the back and around 12,000 on the front. This is the second set of Metzler's I have ran on the Wideglide. I will not buy another set.

I've been riding for 45 years and until now have never gotten anywhere close to 16,000 miles out a set of OEM tires as I have on my '09 Ultra Classic. I bought a set of chrome Ultra Limited wheels recently and didn't hesitate to replace the original tires with another set of OEM tires just like the ones that came off.
Anyone that don't like or is not getting better than average mileage out of their OEM Dunlop touring tires has got to be doing something wrong. Dunlop may not sell as many tires but they will have more dedicated customers if they keep up producing quality tires as I have experienced on my current Harley Ultra Classic.
The OEM tires I took off could have easily gone another 3,000 to 5,000 more miles.

Had close to 18k on my back tire when a nail made me change it, many miles left on it...

I get around 15,000 miles out of stock dunlops on the rear tyre and around 9,000 out of the front on an 06 nightrain, possible i get more than most as i spend most of the time on interstate type roads, less braking.

Personally I am not happy with this new series of Dunlops on my Ultra ... and I still do and have Dunlops on my 3 other bikes - no issues - love 'em - The new OEM's on my 2009 Ultra were/are garbage IMHO. I do have over 40 years riding - 35 yrs on "heavy" 600lb plus bikes.
The rear tire cupped out at 10K, could hear it "singing" when cornering - tire pressures checked every 2 days, and ran at latest Dunlop service bulletin pressures of 2 - 3 lbs over the owners manual recomendations. still had 6 - 7/32nds tread depth when it had to be replaced.
Front tire I get a shimmy out of at 30 - 35 mph if you take your hands off the bars, and then goes away over or under the speed - dealer has checked runout and balance of both wheel and tire, no problems found, and head bearings checked too, by the HD dealer. ... get less shimmy with a warmer tire ... and pressure isn't any different cold or "hot". Been complaining to the dealer about it since it was new. - answer from them is - don't take your hands off the bars.
Wasn't happy with the "feel" of the dual compound either ... have had a Metzler ME 880 on the back now for about 4K and the feel is great, nice and "sticky" - front tire feel is just to "squirmy" rolling into and out of tight corners - on and off the dual compound area ... front tire is getting replaced this weekend - ME 880 there too. 14,400 on the bike - tread depth is still good at least 5/32nds on the front, could easily get another 3K or more out of it.

You sure the tire fairy isn't changing those things out when yer sleepin? 62,000 miles on a front tire? Rear tires lasting 20K? Accelerating 0-60 in 15 minutes? I want some of what yer smokin!
