Cool Tire Mileage

I've got 17,000 miles on my original set of tires - '09 Street Glide - and they are still lookin' good.. how many miles have you seen on your original set? Any other brand I should look at when it's time to replace? Appreciate your input...

I have 7500 on my FatBob and I was just looking at the back tire last night. It is starting to look like its getting close to be needing replacement. I have to get the state inspection this month so we will see. The front looks good.

I've been riding for 45 years and until now have never gotten anywhere close to 16,000 miles out a set of OEM tires as I have on my '09 Ultra Classic. I bought a set of chrome Ultra Limited wheels recently and didn't hesitate to replace the original tires with another set of OEM tires just like the ones that came off.

Anyone that don't like or is not getting better than average mileage out of their OEM Dunlop touring tires has got to be doing something wrong. Dunlop may not sell as many tires but they will have more dedicated customers if they keep up producing quality tires as I have experienced on my current Harley Ultra Classic.

The OEM tires I took off could have easily gone another 3,000 to 5,000 more miles.

You sure you aren't counting your 'trailer miles' too?

I've had many Dunlops, Michelins, Metzlers, and I've never gotten more than 10,000 miles out of any rear MC tire.

Default my front tire is cupped up

I just replaced my front tire Dunlop D407F due to cupping, this tire got 15,000 miles on it, my rear tire will get replaced as soon as I get a motorcycle lift. I went with the Metzler 880 Marathon for the replacement.

Just changed out a Metzeler ME880 on the back of my 09 Low Rider at 11,600 miles. Maybe could have squeezed a few more but tire was getting pretty slick. Front still looks good for a few thousand more. I'm pretty **** about checking tire pressures at least once a week or more and run Metzeler's recommended pressures.

2010 StreetGlide with stock OEM Dunlops D408F on front, D407 on rear. Current milage is 16,247 miles. Will easily get another 2K out of them. Will buy another set just like these! And, NO TRAILER miles on this bike!
