No More Base Stickers for Navy!
Finally! I'm glad I used the detachable label plate for mine instead of slapping them directly on the lower legs.
"Starting July 1, 2013 military decals for vehicle windshields will no longer be required to gain access to Navy installations. Authorization to access Navy facilities will be based on verification of a valid credential or I.D. card.
Although vehicle decal elimination at Navy installations aligns base access policies with most other military services, for frequent visitors to non-Navy installations which will still require decals, your current decal may be left on your vehicle until the expiration date. Otherwise, it is recommended that the decal be removed."

No if only we could standardize the vest/no-vest policy...

+1 on the detachable plate. I'm really glad I got it. The only downside it will take even longer to get on base now that they look at just the ID's.

Yeah I'm pretty stoked about that, I just put a chrome front end on and was not looking forward to slapping decals on. Talked to one of the base cops and luckily he gave me a heads up so I've just been carrying them in a ziplock bag in my tank pouch.

Trust me, a month or so of the lines checking IDs will create and they'll be back to vehicle stickers.

Our base already requires them to physically touch your ID even with the decals, not sure about other bases but this will not effect our lines. In fact my wife's car has had expired decals for about 3 years now and as long as i'm not trying to access a restricted area they don't even look at the decal anyways.
