Rush slip ons vs full exhaust?
Ok im looking to put the rush 2.00" baffle slip ons on my 2012 Fatboy Lo. I really want my bike to sound great and alot louder than stock. On my Night train that i sold i had Vance & Hines big shots and love the sound alot but this time around i just cant see myself spending around 1,000 bucks on exhaust and tune and stuff. Plus i really like the way the stock exhaust looks on the Lo just dont like the color, shape, and sound of the mufflers! So i know they are not going to sound like the bigshots but will they still sound loud and have good tone to them? And compaired to to full exhaust how much more quiet will they be?

i have the 2010 fatboy lo with the black slash slip on with the 2 inch baffle the bike sounds good and know poping either. they look great on the bike to have no heat shields i think they look better without the heat shield

Rush mufflers get louder with age. I had to take mine off, with 2.0 baffles they were way too loud for me or the neighbors. I put Cycle Shack baffles in my S/E, perfect combo.

I had Rush baffles on my sportster before I went full exhaust. 2" ones. I was impressed with them but not as impressed as I am with the full exhaust.

The 2.00" baffle slip on is a great option for your bike. The cost is low and if the bike is stock no tuning will be required. The 2.00" is loud when you crack the throttle but has a nice deep rumble at idle. The 1.75" has slightly less volume, but still has a deep sound. With any full system, the pitch (tone) of the exhaust will be higher and not have the deep rumble some people are looking for. With any full system you should get a fuel management system and that drastically increases the cost.

My husband and I both have had a couple bikes with Rush slip-ons. We love the sound - deep, loud, but not obnoxious, and have gotten lots of compliments on them. I just bought a new bike and it's killing me with the stock sound. Maybe next season with tax refund money. And it will be Rush slip-ons again. Probably 1.75 baffles like I had on my Street Bob.
