Default miles on tires

About (approx) how many miles do you put on you tires. I have over 8,000 miles and the tread still looks pretty good. Thanks

I easily get over 10k miles on my tires. I see lots of posts of people only getting 5k or so. I find highway riding boring, so the vast majority of my miles is on secondary 2 lane highways and rural roads with lots of curves if possible.

So I wonder if tire mileage really is influenced that much by the amount of cornering encountered, therefore using "more" of the tire and not having the wear concentrated as much around the center of the tread?

It depends on a lot of different variables, weather and how your roads are where you live. Roads are terrible in PA. I saw 7k out of my first rear tire. We'll see what this next one gets.

I get 8-10k out of a rear tire and 20k out of a front tire.

Keep my tire pressure right, use front brakes only 90% of the time.

Ride about an equal # of miles on country roads with lots of curves and the slab.

Different riding styles and road surfaces can account for Huge differences in how long a tire lasts...especially the rear.

lets see,? gas it through the gears, feel the power!
do this every time ..
brake late and hard , never touch front brake ..
that will get maybe 4-5k on the rear .

ride it like a old man with his pants under his armpits..
that will get you 20 k ...
the choice is yours.
.Just my humble opinion

I usually get about 17k on my rear Dunlop 402's and 35k on my front D402. But the rear D402 I just replaced a couple of months ago had ~20k on it and still had some meat left.

For real, I'm not sure it may pass inspection, but in the end it comes to how i feel about it. If a tire doesn't grip anymore I'm done with it. That's how the dunlops were at 2/32's.

i have a 01EG with a dunlop d404 on the rear, 6k miles and it looks like a race slick..no hint of tread left. i might ride hard, but never spin it,never lock the brakes up..think i got a bad tire..been riding for 24 years, have never worn a tire bald before.not even close with 4 times the miles
