How screwed am I?
So, I've been tinkering around with my '98 FLHR for the last couple months and went to put my exhaust on last week......
Thought I'd do it right and torq them to specs, but I misread the spec, and snapped the stud. Tried heating it up, and using some penetrating oil on it with vice grips, no luck. Bought a nice set of extractors and tonight I tried to get her out.
Ended up center drilling the stud out so I'd have a guide for the extractor. However even with the guide I got off center, and I got into the head. Stud still isn't out, and here is how it sits tonight. Taking every ounce of self control to not take a sledge hammer to it right about now. Help?

D@mn - you really hacked that down to nothing...seems like there's no more stud left to get a grip on w/extractor too. I'd say it's time to yank the jug & get it into a shop, before you REALLY jack it up.

why did you start drilling the stud out first, as opposed to just trying to extract it?
I don't know enough but looking at that man... that don't look too good. If I were you I wouldn't mess with it any further and have it brought to a shop you trust. They're gonna have to do some finagling there.

Well, the stud snapped and it wasn't a clean break so the extractor wasn't going in straight. So I thought that by drilling a center hole would help it center up. Turns out it didn't.
I'm pretty sure that the extractor got into the head. Can this be tapped and a larger stud put in? I know that will case issues with the exhaust flange but that can be drilled too. Or am I looking at a new head? If so, since its the rear head and space looks pretty cramped back there, is this going to involve pulling the engine?
