Default So I was trying on leather vests...

that were made in china and cost $99. I have a question for the vest savvy rider here. Do you want your vest to be able to fit over your leather jacket too, or do you just wear it when it is warm out? I want one that fits over the jacket as well as I can wear without a jacket, however the XL seems a bit large without the jacket. Thoughts and opinions please. I really don't want to buy 2 yet...

A few members of the local group purchased vests that go OVER theor riding jacket. They have all of their pins and patches on the vest. In the spring/summer they just wear the vest.

Hope this helps.

Get a vest that has lace-up sides. Toss on a pair of extender chains and it should fit over a jacket. Tighten it up when you want to wear it by itself.

My late wife gave me a vest from San Diego Leather Jacket Factory somewhere down in Dago.
Made in USA and still holding up 16 years later.

I bet they're still in business.

Okay, I looked it up

You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for all the responses. I hate the laced side look. I won't wear that kind. Maybe I should jsut get one for when it is warm. I dunno. Never even considered one until I saw KeithB with his over his leather jacket...I might just go for a denim one instead. Choices, Choices...

My son bought my vest from a vendor at a rally for $35.00. It was made in Pakistan and is holding up after five years of year round use.
It fits me perfectly without my jacket and in the cold when I wear my jacket I use "vest extendors" so it fits perfectly over my jacket.
Good luck whatever you decide.
It's a matter of taste AND the size of your wallet.

I don't wear my leather vest over my leather jacket maybe cause I don't put any pins or patches on either one. I have an old levi's jacket that gets the pins and patches cause it's a lot easier to sew on to and I don't like sticking all those holes in good leather...
