Hmmm, according to google its a 325 mile trip straight down US15 for me. Gonna have to see about getting the time off, and away from the Mrs. She "might" like to come but with her lousey knees she can't sit in a car that long, forget the back of a bike.
Where would be a reasonably centralized place to stay be down there?

There are a lot of places to stay around Central PA that are probably less than an hour away from Gettysburg. You're almost into Northern Maryland when you get to Gettysburg, you're less than an hour out of Harrisburg and a little over an hour up Rt. 30 from Amish Country near Lancaster. Plenty of places to stay and things to see.
