That would be me ! Started riding a year and a half ago at age 50. I was the oldest in my NSF class .

Not a "typical" thing.Most people ,at least in my experience,have ridden while they were young then gone back to it.Congratulations to him and anyone else who have the "*****" to start or try something new,at an older age.

When my wife took her MSF 5 years ago had a Guy 81 years old there taking the class and passed just fine ..
