HD Cool Collar Oil Cooler
Anyone use or know of anyone that uses one of these? Simply fits over oil filter and claims to lower temp by 20 degrees. Was looking on ebay at oil coolers and saw one. Ad said that HD started selling them in 97, but no longer do. Any thoughts? Thanks as always for any input.

All it is is a heat sink. In theory it should help cool the oil somewhat. I had one once and was so impressed by it, that I resold it on E Bay and bought me a real oil cooler. I didn't notice any temp change on my dipstick gauge.

I have one, for the peace of mind more than anything else. Heat sink kinda make sense, especially when bike is moving. Don't have a oil temp gauge, but used a meat thermometer to check before and after, about 5-10 degree after the same route run on a 80 degree day.
Running Lucas syn (oh boy, here we go....), also have a PC-V, dyno tuned. Don't seem to run hot as is, but figure won't hurt, and is rather inexpensive (I think I paid ~ $15).
