Charge it good (few day) on the low amp maintenance charger. Has to be charged. Pull it out and have Dealer or AutoZone check it. They will tell you reserve amps. That's the word. Got mine 8-7-06. Check about 3 months ago and passed.Started my bike last night at 12AM at it was 36 degrees. Did do a little grunt and miss started because I did not keep button down long enough but it was fine. 10 mile run and I thru the maintenance on when I got home after 10 mile. Green charged light was on before I was leaving garage.

Good advice right there. Dealer said they put in a new battery when I picked the bike up last year, but it didn't have enough of a charge on it to start the bike when we rolled it out back to run it at the dealer, so I'm keeping an eye on it. No problem since though. Copious use of the trickle charger they gave me.

Mine was still firing the scoot up at 10 & 1/2 years. It started giving me the slow starts and was cracked anyway, so I replaced it a couple years ago with another HD battery.

If you use AMSOIL, your battery will last twice as long......

Every two years if you don't use a battery tender.

I have 4.5 years on my current battery using a battery tender.

A friend of mine has an '04 Dyna with its original battery (using a battery tender).

His ladies' '02 Fat Boy has its orignal battery (using a battery tender).
