You know the ones I'm talking about. Not deep, nobody but you can see them and they just annoy the **** out of you. Anybody know any tricks or techniques to buff them out?? Thanks fellas.

You can remove the scratches but that dulls the shine as far as I know.

Better to live with the scratches IMO.

It is not possible to "polish chrome". You can put wax on it but that's all. Re-chrome is the only cure.

Can't be done that I know of. I tried to polish out a scratch with metal polish in my rienhart and made it worse.

I've been able to get minor scratches out with 0000 steel wool loaded with Mothers chrome polish. Keep the wool very wet with the polish to avoid dulling.

It's easy....... just re-chrome. Sorry bro. But no amount of buffing or polishing or steel wool will make it look like nice shiny chrome.

Re-chrome, or powder coat...your only choices to make it 100%.

I suppose its the same for a small dent that is annoying me something awful!

My mechanic has tried his best to lightly beat it out without ruining it but I can still see it! Its probably off to the dealers or eBay for a replacement!
Its the chrome cover around the tank gauges on my Heritage. I attached a holder for my camera to the bars and didn't check if it would hit anything as I thought I had loads of clearance, I was wrong!!

The first and most important way to make those barely noticeable scratches even less noticeable is to get all your riding gear on, sit on the bike, start it up and get out there and ride. You'll be too busy looking where you are going, and you will be going too fast for anyone else on the road to notice them. That's what I do.
