Default A little info for ya'll

This just popped into my mind while reading another post. Did you ever go for gas and you did not have your key or you lost it. Well did you know that any key from any other harley will open your gas door. Thought this might be a good thing for you guys to know if you are ever in this spot. My good deed for the day

My bike doesn't have a keyed gas cap, but yep, I found this out when I was riding with a friend - he on his '03 Ultra and me on my '08 Fatboy. He needed gas, so we stopped in, but he had forgotten his key. I looked at the shape of his keyhole and handed him the key from my ignition, telling him it was worth a try. He tried it and it popped right open. We were both pretty damn surprised.

??? Never had a gas cap that needed a key. I'll be damned. Never knew they existed.

I know we all don't have locking caps but good to know just to bail a friend in need out.

Yup, any barrel key will open the gas cap.

I'm confused. If you don't have your key, what's the point in filling the tank? How did you even get to the pump and lose the key?

Silly rabbit! Keys (that stay in the ignition) are for Sportsters!
