Throw over saddle bags rubbing paint?
Do throw over saddle bags rub the pant and dull it on the fender of a softail? I just ordered my bolt on saddle bags (there being custom made) but they might not arrive in time for Sturgis. If they don’t arrive in time a friend is letting me borrow his throw overs for the rally. If they rub the paint in a bad way, I was thinking I could get some clear bra material and put it on the rear fender where the bags would rub to protect it. Then I could peal the stuff off when my bags arrive. Is there better solution to this?
Thanks

I would think it depends on whether you mount them over or under the seat. If over and they are held securely to the frame (so they don't fly up when you are riding) the throw over should rest on the fender gussets.
