Guys who say: "I had to lay it down" BS you're a quitter, a guy who jumps off a motorcycle and guarantees he's going to be in a wreck instead of braking, slowing, maneuvering, riding it out just gave up on it. 3 rotors, 3 calipers, and now ABS.....I'm not going down until I'm knocked down.
Wearing a broken wings patch as some sort of badge of honor 'cause you wrecked seems pretty damned stupid to me too, but y'all do what makes you feel good. If I see someone with a patch like that, I'm ridin' behind them at a safe distance in case they "have to lay it down"

Have you paid your dues? Road Rash doesn't count.
In 40 years of riding I have broken my Arm, Finger, Fib, Tib, Femur, Compound Fractures, Ribs Cracked.
Rods, Pins, Screws and Fusions. Blood Transfusions. Concussions and split helmets. Surgery and PT.
Wheelchairs, Walkers, Canes and Limps. Scars and stitches and staples.
Been down Hard a few times and got back on. Used up 9 lives and started over.
All the stupid sht I did in the dirt as a kid I never broke a bone, bounced and bruised.
The street is tougher than leather, metal is stronger than Bone and a Helmet is more protection than hair.
WE don't take for granted our mortality.
Many of you, maybe most of you have never been down, I mean down Hard. Like being beaten with a baseball bat? Yeah that's what I am talking about.
Who else is a member? The BBC.

I'm all for wearing them in remembrance of a mate who went out... but for your own crash? Nah... seems too narcissistic to me.
