It all depends on what mods you do? You could get pretty frickin extreme with these motors.. probably would get more than a thousand miles before you'd need a rebuild though.

How much you wanna spend? I know a certain normally aspirated 103 in the area making 140hp+ (yes dynoed).
Money no object, you could make 103" make 500+hp. Of course it would be running nitro and need rebuilding every 1/4 mi and it really wouldn't be a Harley any more and...

My 103 has 10.5 to 1 pistons, Wood TW-6 cams, Screaming Eagle heads, Master Tune TTS, and dyno'ed at just over 100HP/105Q. Could I get more HP out of it? Sure. Do I personally need more HP on this bike? No.
It is a very dependable/comfortable every day driver, and will rapidly transport you into the triple digit range of your speedo. This is on an 800+lb Street Glide.

Well i think im just curious on how much HP these engines can achieve since there 103 ci.. i just figured you would be able to get respectable #s out of it! Im looking to turn my Fatboy lo into sort of a Muscle bike! Ill be honest when i was buying a bike last year it was a toss up between a Night rod and the Fatboy LO.. Well the lo one because the Night rod was a 2011 and was not comfortable at all! I heard they totally changed the 2012 Night rod and they are comfy.. So instead of trading in My new Fatboy Lo for a Night rod i figured i would juice up The Lo to get some more HP.. I also want to MOD its Style to look the part. Id like to do a wicked exhaust, Fat rear tire 250mm,and black out the bike more! I want it to be one Bad a$$ Fatboy Lo!!!!

If you want big HP gains, go w/ some sort of blower. The bottom end worries are exaggerated IMO. The few bottom end failures there are, are not frequently catastrophic events. You'll hear a lot of noise and then need to tear into it. I'm thinking of doing a ProCharger on an other wise stock 110'. Should yield in the 130-140 HP range. I'll run it till something busts, (which could be a very long time or not at all) then get in there and put in a welded crank when the time comes. (and a few other things). But unless I'm building a motor from the bottom end up, I wouldn't split the cases till I was forced too.

How much are you willing to spend? When you cross the 110-115HP range, you're going to have to do the bottom end. That's a lot more money.
