I'm 5'8" and installed a set of the H-D 12" Mini-Apes on my 2011 Road King Classis, which indeed has a windshield. Love 'em! Ride position is super comfortable for me. I had some pics but for the life of me I can't find them on this PC...sorry.

if your anywhere around 5'11" like me, 16's are perfect. I personally wouldn't consider anything lower as being apes (more like pull-backs) but just my opinion.

I have 16" apes on a 2004 RK. I am 6' and they are nearly perfect. A windshield fits with no problem. I think you'd have trouble with the shield only if you want to jack the bars forward...like way forward. I have a stock shield and the bars are about 4" back from the shield (bars are in-line with fork rake).

Man, what a joke that bike is. Not only do those look ridiculously out of proportion, they're so small diameter they look like they'd fold in half in a good head wind.

A buddy knows that guy. I think he's an extra on SOA and is always walking around with a poncho on smoking a cigar.
He's a huge guy, but those were even with my head standing next to that bike.
