Default How much does the dealer pay for new bikes?

What is the dealers invoice price for say a bare bones Iron 883 or any model for that matter? How much profit do they make on one bike?

Their invoice is a lot less than what we get to pay when we buy one. That question has been asked several times and has never been answered to any satisfaction. It must be a very closely guarded secret.

Maybe we'll finally see with the previous post. Let us know what you discover.

I would think there would be at least a 25% mark up.

I can tell you this, my buddy bought a bike at the beginning of the year and my local dealer confirmed that it was only a $900 profit deal.

I assume that has holdback calculated into it also, so my guess would be that it was about $200-300 over invoice with another $600 in hold back for the deal.

He bought a brand new 2012 Limited - Price was $19200 and with tax, tag it was $21462 OTD

so on that MSRP of $25XXX it was invoice cost in my estimate right around $19000 or $18900

that's close to $6k in profit for those that pay the MSRP plus the dealer fee.

First rule of business

If you buy it for a dollar you sell it for 2.

Not sure how much the dealers pay for bikes but if it's any thing like RV's, they make a killing if they sell for msrp!
I went to an RV show last week to check out the RV's. They had a Class A diesel pusher on sale for $249K! The sign said "That's $105K below MSRP"
WOW!
