Default Repainting a 100th Anv. Question

I have a 100th Anniversary Fat Boy that is black with the Anniversary Ribbon. I bought it used and it has many small surface scratches and one good size scratch on the rear fender. The Anniversary Strip/Ribbon is in good condition. Does anyone know if it would be feasible for me to get just the black parts of the tins repainted and leave the Anniversary Strip alone?

I want it to look the same as factory and I figure it should be fairly easy to get black paint.

Does anyone know a good paint shop that could do this? I am in Wisconsin.

Thanks.

That shouldn't be a problem. A good painter could mask off the stripes & respray the tank (if needed) and then clear it. Black is a very easy color to match. Respraying the fenders is also easy.

Ride it this summer & pull the tins off when you park it for winter. Great project for the off-season!

Anytime you can save the graphics, you're better off. Not sure what a new stripe would cost for your bike, but I've heard that the ones on mine (including the HD tank script) would scare the pizz out of me.

....... shouldn't be an issue. I've checked into a similar procedure for my Road Glide. Sorta waiting to see what the new Chrome Yellow Pearl looks like before making the move.

If you are talking about the black with the silver (metal) stripe in it, I thought that paint process was proprietary to HD? I may be wrong. A buddy of mine got his repainted after an accident and seems the shop had some problems with it.
