...not according to the HD website. It still shows the 11 models and states that the RKC came standard with the 103, while the RK came standard with the 96, just as Loc-Tite has posted.

Shoot, it's got a 300 dollar tail light...

From my experience it just depends on what you have done and the quality of the work. A buddy of mine traded in a Softail, thing was totally decked out, show room custom, it was painted, wheels, carlini apes, risers, airbags on and on. He ended up getting a grand over book value with the work he had in it. Book was 14K, they gave him 15K... a week later he saw it for sale for 19K, it was gone not more than a week later. They probably got close to what they wanted too.

He still lost out, but at least he didn't get raped. It really just depends on the dealer and what it is you have into the bike.

Dealers try to only give trading value with nothing for add on's. Go to a dealer and price a bike and get their offer on trade. Come back the next day with all the stuff gone and put back to stock and say you are ready to trade! They will holler. I was at a HD dealer when a guy did just that. I didn't hang around for the outcome but the dealer was po'd.

Except for the dealer some of the several pricing books will say 50% of the retail for HD branded accessories and 25% of retail for after market stuff.

A bike is worth more with the adds. It is just none of the dealers will pay but if they get the bike watch what they want for it compared to the same one stock.

The other amazing thing is the forum responses for giving advice to a poster who wants to buy used. All will go for low ball numbers. But if their own bike is for sale watch out.

Same on the Corvette forum. I have never understood why a HD owner would ever tell others to go for a low amount. It is in every owners best interest to help others get the most for the bike that they can. It will help keep the used prices up. That is good for the buyer even. When they are done with that bike they will recover more of what they paid.

Of course... it's called "buy low, sell high". I try to abide by those principles wether it be stocks, real estate, cages, or bikes.
