Default Quick-release strap lock

I bought a pair of Echo locks and want to take one of them off my FF hat and install it on a different hat. This hat has half-round D-rings which are a pita to use. If there is a way to release the metal-clip on the female lock, I'd appreciate the 'how to'. Thanks

Dremel must be the only way to remove, so I'll leave it on the strap. Bought another $7 Echo for the new Skid-Lid. The Skid-Lid D-ring configuration is a bad design. I've had a lot of helmets and have never seen this before....oh well, the Echo should fix the issue.

Unfortunately once it's on, you have to break the plastic to get it off again

update: toothpick between each 'ear' and giant screwdriver to pry it out. worked like a champ. (trying to use the other metal-piece is 'difficult'. giant screwdrive is easy) no damage to strap or device.

I like that piece. Single-prong 'stab' would be easier than having to line-up the two-pronger. Thanks
