Best Boots--Best Place to Buy
#21
I get all my boots from http://www.leatherup.com. They have some REALLY nice boots for REALLY LOW prices. The XElement boots that I have now are pretty heavy but are the EXACT SAME BOOT that I saw at the local HD dealership only with the HD nametag screwed to the heel. Oh yeah... and for all http://www.leatherup.com purchases over $90, there's free shipping. And if you use the discount code 55633 at checkout, it takes 10% off the total order.

Is that place is right next door to the Blue Oyster Bar?
I wear oiled leather Dan Post pull ons. Waterproof and rugged.

For a few years, I thought the only kind of "motorcycle boots" to wear were those that looked "the traditional part", such as the stovepipe "harness" boots I wore.
Then I happened to be at Americade and tried on some Euro-style riding boots.
What a difference. Those "squid-looking" boots were like wearing 14" high slippers compared to the clunky feel of the tradtionally-styled boots.
So I bought some, and after that never wore the traditional boots again. I liked them so much I bought a second pair same as the first and put them in the closet for use when the originals wore out. After a re-sole and years of use, I retired the originals and just slipped on my backup pair.
No, they don't look anything like you'd expect to find a Harley guy wearing. So what?

Why do so many Harley riders prefer do-rags, t-shirts, and finger-less gloves over proper motorcycle riding gear designed specifically to protect your head, shoulders, elbows, arms, hands, fingers, etc. in the event of an accident? Best just not to ask.

I find Chippewa boots to be very comfortable.
To the best of my knowledge all of their products are made in the U.S.A.

I had a pair of Wesco's custom made. Size 15EEEE can't be bought off a shelf. Their customer service, quality and workmanship is second to none. I've always worn RedWings but trust me Wesco's blow them away, there is no comparison.
Leathers much thicker that RedWing, Kevlar stitches, completely made to my specs, foot size and shape all in American by Americans.
