In Newfoundland recently,I could not find anything but regular gas and my 2012 103 did not ping riding two up loaded with gear. Thats on some pretty big hills too. The timing adjusts to prevent it,you should not ever get the 103 to ping,so Id say somethings wrong with your ECM.

 

Friend of mine got a 2012 limited 3 weeks ago. Put 150 miles on it and took it back for the ping noise. Dealer put a brand new engine in it. 100 miles on this engine and the same noise. I listened to it and it sounded like it was coming from the trans. Dealer confirmed it was coming from the trans and contacted the Motor company and service rep. Service rep came out and said its called a "neutral rattle" and not any thing the Motor company will do about it. Has any one else had this problem and told the same thing? It's the same noise that the first engine was making. Big fail on the dealer on that call.....
