Default emissions warranty

Does anyone know if motorcycle manufacturers are required to carry an emissions warranty on their new bikes? New cars have them and it covers all emissions equipment including the ecu for something like 8 yrs 80k.

Yes. As long as you modify nothing your bike is warranted to pass emissions regs in place at time of manufacture, I think for five years. That's all street bikes sold in the states, with the exception of some small displacement models that are exempt.

Default RE: emissions warranty

Just got the answer from my dealer the warranty is 5yrs or 18641 miles (works out to an even number in km). My thought was this, relative to the EPA if the manufacturer is only liable to make his product pass emissions for X yearsor X miles why would the end user be liable for more?
