White smoke on start up Tc 88
On a cold start up the engine blows out more white smoke than a Blue Angel. After bike warms up it goes away. Is this a sign my rings are going? I have a stage 1 installed, V&H exhaust and a screaming eagle air filter. Only thing I changed recently was the V&H exhaust. Bike has 7,500 miles and is fuel injected.
Thanks

I had this very same issue on my Goldwing back in the day
Seriously, smoke at start up usually means valve seals.

White smoke is water from condensation. Are you having big temp swings at night now?
If it is blue your valve seats are leaking, it allows a bit of oil to seep by and drip in the cylinder
If its black smoke, your cold start up is just running rich.
I would gather 1st or 3rd examples

I've been reading up and it seems its water vapor is common. Temps were about mid 70s. Also read the 2005s are notorious for valve seals leaking.
Not worried about the radiator since mine isn't a 2014 touring models.

Coincidentally to my bike making white smoke ONLY at cold start in the morning, all other cars in the parking lot are wet and it hasn't been raining. It's called condensation. It's normal, some water in the exhaust, and with the hot exhaust gases coming through it becomes vapor---> white smoke.
Agreed, if valve seals are deteriorating smoke would be blue from oil.
Therefore nothing to worry about, unless you have a water cooled metric and trying to find a solution in a Harley forum...
