Put my 03 Road King in the shop Tuesday to install the upgraded cam chain tensioners and oil pump. I have 34k on the bike. One tensioner was nearly gone. If you have not checked them or replaced them and you have about 30k, you should be thinking about it. I could not have road many more miles.

Which kit did you go for ? the HD kit uses the same inner chain, and it's the chain that causes the damage.

Is that just totally f*cked up, or what??? I can't believe you need resort to a 3rd party kit (Wood or Andrews), which uses all H-D parts, BTW, in order to get the issue totally solved. Harley MoCo is reminding me of Microsoft - intentionally keep issues ongoing in order to keep 'em coming back to spend more.

Sounds like you got the HD kit Hoggy, apparently if you also change the camm as well you can also put a roller chain on the inside as well, it's a problem that was on the very first TCs so you'd think Harley's would have fixed it before 07 when the 96ers came out.
