5 Day Ride

5 Day Ride
The SO and I decided to take a vacation. We loaded up what we thought we would need and took off. 265 miles later we were in Clinton TN. There we hit the antique sale in town and also the Appalachian museum and show. From there we rode every road that we could find that was paved. We left Clinton and hit Pigeon Forge then on to Gatlinburg. We went back to Pigeon Forge and took Wares Vally Road on the way to the Dragon. I got to go back and hit the Dragon again soon. Lots of roads around the Dragon to ride and enjoy. On to Cherokee. We got on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Cherokee and rode to Little Switzerland. I do love those twisty roads. The ride was unbelievable. The fall colors are definitely there and we took our time and stopped at several of the overlooks. Most of this trip was not planned. When it started to get dark we started looking for a place to stay. Sometimes we had to go to the next town to get a room. When we left Little Switzerland we went back to Asheville to make our way home. The weather was great. No rain and cool mornings the entire trip. So now I will be back on mostly flat strait roads until I can get some more time off. Sure didn't want to stop the ride but my job is waiting for me. In all we ran close to 1000 miles in the 5 day trip. Also UPS made a killing on shipping crap that the SO had to have. I got a new pair of boots out of the trip so I made out OK I guess.

Hey Brother, I was up in the Pigeon Forge area this past Aug. First time for me on the bike. Wife drove her car and we met at the condo. We did the Wares Valley Road and the roads around Gatlinburg and over to Cades Cove. We love the area and go almost every year. Beautiful place to ride too. It was my first "vacation" trip for leasure riding. Didn't get over to the Dragon but will have to make that trip soon!
