Here's an interesting article I just read in the latest issue of AI.
Time to come together and tell the politicians we're watching them.
I've been an AMA member for 42 years and can't count the number of anti motorcycle bills that have been proposed or passed in that time and defeated by the AMA, ABATE and all the other MRO's.
Time to get off the couch. If you don't do anything now, you don't have the right to bitch later.

Sorry. I tried to paste the article but it was too big. I can't believe one page of text is too big to post on this forum. I've had this problem for months here. My other forums are OK.

Anyway it's in Decembers issue, page 24. Basicly it says politicians are out to get us(big surprise) and membership is declining in MRO's.

 

I just read that article last night. I have been a proud AMA member for 5 years now. Great organization.

 

I just earned my AMA Life membership earlier this year. The organization does good work.

The politicians are out to get EVERYBODY! Of course, they'll tell us it's for our own protection. About 20 years back one of our lamebrain legislators (the only kind we have here in NJ) introduced a seat belt law for motorcycles. Fortunately, it went nowhere.

 

Seat belt law for bikes? Yep, only in Jersey.

Remember when Claypool wanted motorcycles designed to be backward steerable? Or Sen Dansford(SP?) almost getting all crotch rockets banned??? Or an alderman (can't remember his name now)banning all motorcyclist from LSD in Chicago?
Or overturning the motorcycle ban on roads that went through all city parks in St Louis in 1979.

The list goes on and on and on.
