yes...this seems to be a common problem with the "Twinkie" engine. So much so that its actually NOT a question as to IF your chain tensioner shoes will implode, sending tiny shards of shoes material into the fine crevices of your engine- but WHEN its going to happen. I myself opted for the Gear Drive upgrade which seems to be the cheaper of the two option. The engine sounds a bit "clunkier" but at least now i got peace of mind. Its an inevitable issue with the twin cam. Hope this helps.

Waiting too long can really cost a bundle.

I spoke with a guy back in the summer who had an 100th Anniversary (2003) Fat Boy who had to replace his engine due to this.
He had his bike serviced regularly by the dealer but they never checked this for him.

Many people are unaware of this potential problem.
