Does Anyone have a Lewis Leather Jacket?
I was looking at older style leather jackets ; does anyone have a Lewis Leather jacket?
(I have a Langlitz , so maybe I should be happy with what I have).
Thanks,
Rod

A. I thought they were out of business - is this a new company that bought the rights to Lewis?
B. British leather gear often looks cool (and t5hose are some cool looking jackets), but is rarely the quality of thickness of American made leather. I'd have to handle one before I'd buy it.

Lewis Leathers has indeed been purchased, some time back. As Brenn stated, the leather is thin, more so than the Lewis product of the 60's, but the construction is still quite good. Most of the designs are from the age of the "Rockers", with the "Bronx" model being the most popular, from what I understand.
Lewis has no U.S. distributor at this time, but will ship here. Customs duties on jackets and boots seem to be a crap shoot.
The wearer of a Lewis Leathers jacket will be bringing a bit of "history" to each ride.

I had a Lewis Leathers Jacket back in 79/80 when I first started riding. If I recall the shop was in Great Portland Street, in Central London. I don't remember what happened to it when I stopped riding in the late 80s but it wouldn't fit me now!
