Default High miles on engine

Topic came up the other day among friends, and I was wondering what everyone here thought. How many miles would you put on a bikes engine before thinking of replacing/rebuilding, etc.? Anyone here with over 100K on their bikes?

Not me, but of those that do, I would wonder what if any work had been done to the bike to keep it rolling?

My brother has 88k on his 80 evo Badboy....He is starting to talk about rebuilds...

I know several others with Evo's all rebuild the top end ~80-100k miles....

As far as the TC88's and the 88b's i have no idea....But I have 23k on mine...Would be interested to see some high mileage 88b's

There will be several people post on here about having 100k+ on their twin cams and have never done any work to it....pretty common actually.

I know a guy who has 113k and still running strong & never had any issues. There is no reason a well maintained TC can't go at least 100K+ before needing any major engine work...it's all about maintenance and how well it's been treated.

We have a gentleman in our club with over 108,000 on his TC96. It is his daily driver and multi day machine. The only thing that has gone wrong is his stator. Funny thing is he can not wait for something to go wrong se he can do a forensic exam of the motor and trans. One thing he says is that our trans and clutches are bullet proof.

You also my pose this question on the touring side

My Duece has 75,328. The only engine work done was installation of cams and gear drive as a precautionary measure around 50,000. Not a single mechanical issue ever.

I have replaced a few electrical/electro-mechanical components... Fuel Injector, voltage regulator, and vehicle speed sensor. Other than that just simply maintenance items.
