Good friends gave me a guardian bell, and I've read that it is supposed to be hung low on the bike and with a leather piece. So what are the 'guidelines' for proper care and placement of a guardian bell. So far, it has stood me well hung on the downtube cross-piece held by a plastic tie. But that might be 'proper.'

 

mine hangs from the frontsafty bar on my flht and the one on my fxd on the cross tube, both with plastic tie wraps.

 

Yup, as close to ground as possible, don't trust the leather ties, seems like the Gremlins like leather. They bit my bell right off first time I put one on

 

Mine hangs off the back fender. Tied it underneath on the electrical cable that runs to my fender-tip light.

 

Mines on a leather shoelace tied to the footboard support.

 

I have drilled a hole in the right foot board plate. I have a key ring run throught the bell into the hole.

My wife's is under her right highway peg on a larger key ring.
