A friend of mine rode one, everyone called it a chick bike. I didnt get it at first and then I started to notice.
Most of the chicks you see riding bikes are on Deluxes, So what gives ? is it a chick bike or not ?

 

It's no more a chick bike than an Electra Glide is an old mans bike. Oh wait, I'm an old man.

 

Short answer is no.

 

There are a million thread about this maybe you can do a search. And yes it is and I enjoy riding mine everytime I swing my leg across it but I really don't carry if everyone thinks it is a chick bike.

 

I'm not saying it's a chick bike, but almost every chick I know who owns a Harley has a Deluxe. Not sure why just an observation.

 

Only to those that think a great looking bike that looks like it rolled out of the fifties is a chicks bike.....Same crap Spory riders have to deal with...ignorance.

 

i always thought it was due to the seat hiegth...being the soft tails are predominetly lower than the other models

If you see a "Chick" riding it, then yes that is a Chick bike. If you see a dude riding it, go tell him he's riding a "Chick" bike. I'm sure he will let you know his opinion.
The Deluxe is the preferred HD of choice for most "chicks" due to the seat height and the lowest center of gravity of all the HD's. Easiest bike to balance and ride for a 120# 5'-4" Chick.

 

My wife rides a Deluxe and I ride every now and then. I think I can tell you why the chicks choose that bike... First it sits low and most women are shorter, it is also an almost perfectly balanced bike and so easy to ride/control. It's also easy to make into what they want. And it's old retro styling is appealing to them.

But as for a chick only bike, no way.... I see guys riding them all over and I would ride that bike anywhere any day.
