Best Drive Belt to use.. keep breaking belts..
Hey guys i got a question i like a lil help with.,. i just upgraded my bike to a Baker 7 speed.. i have a 2007 Electra Glide classic with a Jims 131 race engine with a jims 62mm throttle body.... engine runs really good and has decent power .. i ran a stock belt with a smaller throttle body with no issues and a performance 106 engine that would pull wheel up in 2nd gear..anyway i just had the trans and throttle body installed and decided to go with a Gates Carbon Fiber belt.. well 1st ride i snapped the Carbon fiber belt within 70 miles of it being put on.. i want to know what the Big inch engine guys are running and having luck with.. Carbon fiber belt gates made is a joke well in my case it was.. just looking for some input so we can order a new belt in the morning

Well, you aren't breaking your belts in the upper gears I am sure. You need to learn the limits of your equipment. Anyone can break things. That being said there is one solution.........CHAIN.

I ran a chain on my 05 for a few years, just went back to a belt a few months ago. It wasn't any noisier than a belt and did not cause any vibration. I lubed it way more than necessary (old habits die hard) so I did have the mess issue.

Another one here saying chain, that torque monster is a belt killer without a doubt. If you use a dry teflon lube the chain will stay looking nice and run quiet, I ran this on my adventure bike and it handled off road and all weathers, on that the chain lasted 20k, which is a lot for that kind of use.
