Default Tach-speedo and pop up gas cap

Hi there,
Bought a 2013 rk orange brown and I have to finalize the parts i want to add to my bike by tomorrow to get the new bike parts discount. Looking at adding the hd speedo tach gauge and flush mount pop up gas caps. I believe the hd tach - speedo has the gas gauge built in.

Can the old gas gauge cap be replaced with a flush mount without the led indicators? Don't think I will need this with the new gauge.

Sure would like to see a pic of a RK with this done. I did see it on the RK CVO and it looked good. Really like the tach incorporated into the gauge but on the fence with the flush mount caps.

Default Tach/Speedo/ Gas Cap

If Harley has a speedo gas gauge it's news to me, but I don't try to keep up with all the new toys.
They have had for years a miles till empty function on the speedo so maybe that's what you're talking about.
You can buy the flush mount fuel gauge and pop-up gas cap and just not connect the electrical wires to the gauge.
I have the chrome flush mounted fuel gauge and pop-up gas cap. Had to replace the pop-up gas cap about a year and a half ago as the original got to where it wouldn't pop up any more. Took it apart and greased it up but no joy. The newer one I have now, was about $90.00 but has a lot more metal than the original mostly plastic one in the kit.
Good Luck...

Thanks dyna rider for the info. The gauge I am looking at claims it has an easy to read segmented feul display. The flush mount caps are a kit for $199. The fuel filler cap is listed at $70. I will probably have to pay the $199 as I don't see a flush mount to replace the gauge without the led display. Like you said, I don't have to hook up the lights. Hopefully the new ones last.

If I'm not mistaken if you don't hook up the LED on the gas gauge it will mess with the reading on the Speedo/Tach as well. You might want to do a little more research as I've seen info on these before on other parts of the forum.

The speedo/tach I have does have a segmented LCD fuel gauge across the bottom. I may be wrong but remember reading somewhere that it doesn't work without the original gas gauge or the LED version hooked up. I just left the LED gauge in place.

Thanks. Did some more research and it does look like the left side gauge or led must be hooked up. I will probably go with the speedo tach for now and look into the flush mount caps some more before committing. Preference is not to have the leds but if I have too, would be nice if they were red as opposed to blue. Found a thread where someone used the parts from the CVO gauge to get red LEDs. Also found a cap from drag specialists that may work but cannot confirm. I will see what my dealer suggests for options also.

I saw a pop up cap yesterday for the first time but I didn't know it popped up. I must have looked pretty stupid trying to open it, when I didn't know how. It did look cool!
