Anyone else? Bike isn't even a year old.

I'm going to take it in since it's under warranty but I'm curious to know if it's a common problem.

 

Have you looked at your cars gas cap? Probably same. Condensation will form in your tank from temp changes and moisture will rise in the tank when it get warm. The steel in the cap will rust. Try to keep your tank full when sitting in garage that will heip.

 

My bikes a few months old but like other things to check...air, oil, cables...I guess the gas cap will be added to the list. I never thought they'd rust.

 

Do you have one of the experimantal bikes that runs on water? That would explain a lot.
