Default Anyone take the VA DMV skills test to get licensed?

I will be going to get my license soon. It has been about 12 years since I've had a MC license. I plan on taking a course, but one is not available for a couple months. Anyone can tell me a little about the skills test required for getting the license?

It is not nearly as bad as everyone you'll talk to makes it out to be. I passed it on the first try. I went up about 3 or 4 times and rode through it after hours to make sure I wouldn't have any problems. DMV has the course itself posted in a PDF on the website, and all of the locations have it painted in the parking lot.

Good Luck!

By the way, I purchased my bike near you in Dumfries. Have you been to Classic Iron?

My first test was , went out front of the DMV, the guy says, "ride up the street one block turn left, come to the stop sign turn left, come back down the street turn left again, come upstairs and see me when you get back'. Then, he walked back inside the building as i pulled away from the curb. That was 43 years ago, I've never let the liscense go.

NOW AFTER HAVING A LICENSE IN VA.SINCE 1976. HAD TO GET A LICENSE IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND AFTER THE ARMY LIFE. I NEEDED A PERSON WITH 5 YEAR MOTORCYCLE DRIVER LICENCE TO SIGN FOR ME TO GET A LICENSE. SO I HAD TO GET LEARN PERMIT TILL SOMEONE WOULD SIGN FOR ME HAVE A MOTORCYCLE LICENSE IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND. SO I DROVE ON THE PERMIT TILL 1984. AND EVERY TIME I WAS PUT OVER FOR SPEEDING. I TOLD THEM I WAS TRYING TO CATCH TO THE OTHER RIDERS. BOY THAT WAS A LIE! I JUST LIKE TO DRIVE FAST.

When I got my license in the late 80's, the test was very similar. I had no experience and really had no business being licensed at that point.

They don't have a lot as far as accessories and goodies, but a lot of decent used bikes. They sell a lot of police bikes. When I was in the market for a Harley a couple months ago, I looked at classifieds, Harley dealer'swebsites, and Ebay, literally athundreds of bikes. Classic Iron beat all their prices by a lot.

They had a couple 06 Sportsters with about 2600 miles each on them for $6995.00 out the door. No fees added on.

I was very pleased dealing with them.
