Big Radius(Big Rust) 2 -> 2 - Refurbishing
"Race Quality Ceramic Coating"..yeah. Please see the following URL for the entire collection of pics of my new project.

This is after 3 short years of being on the bike.
I've sanded the rear pipe down with 180 grit, hit it with a wire wheel and wire brush. I've removed about 90% of the pitted rust and all of the surface. I will be working on the front pipe soon.
First 3 pics are after 3 coats of VHT, the last 2 pics are the first and second coat.

Wow...that's a shame. In your area (close to Eastern shore) does your bike primarily stay outdoors, or inside? I'm guessing the elements aren't helping your situation (i.e. sea salt)..?? Definitely want to get that corrected.

I keep the bike outside and in the garage during the winter. It stays in a cover, regardless..I would have expected $800 pipes to handle better.
I find out now that V&H doesn't even use stainless steel.

WOW , that's a shame . I would be pissed as well . I have V&H dresser duels on my bike , so far they still look like new . I hope they stay that way .
Like was said maybe the salt air has something to do with it ??

I've decided that I am going to sand the hell out of them and then spray them with high temp paint. It's not worth the money to have them blasted.
