I have searched a bit (not really, figured I'd just ask first) for the 'definition of Harley's 'alpha' Model designations.

Does anyone know what all the 'letters' mean?

What is the reason a Sportster is an XL?

The Dyna has a FXD badge, and the last letter designates the model...But why the FX?

FXS & FLS for the Softails...again, what do the 'X' and the 'L' stand for?

FLH for the 'touring'/air-ride bikes...

Not really an important question...just could'nt sleep last night & figured I would see what others had to say about it.

Sporster - This is the only one I could afford
All the "hardtail" models - Damn my *** hurts
Bagger models - Damn this things heavy
Super Fancy Bagger Models - Yes this thing really does cost more than a brand new Mustang
V-Rod - Yes I know I should have bought the CBRR1000 or ZX-14 but now all the cool guys at the bar won't make fun of me
