Only one thing could make it better...

Just received an Akoury AK-88--took a ride with it today(100mile mol), the first ride wearing a helmet that wasn't mandated in about 50yrs on 2 wheels but won't be the last for sure!! Fit like a glove, no wind effects and it helped keeping the head warm on a crisp fall morning!!
If I could find a helmet with more coverage and was as comfortable just start wearing one on a more regular basis

The wife has been pushing me to start wearing a helmet... I don't live in a nanny state and refuse to wear something that makes me feel like I'm in a cage or a space suit.

I got the AK88 and actually LIKE wearing it. It is light enough where it does not feel like much more than a ball cap. Plus, it keeps the bald spot on the top of my head from frying in the sun... I wear it all of the time now.

Yeah... I know... It's not as safe as a FF OR 3/4, but since I WON'T wear a FF or a 3/4, it's BETTER THAN NOTHING.

 

I switched over from the Bell Pit Bull to the AK88 earlier this year and also praise the AK88 - great fit, comfortable without the mushroom head look - and it's DOT approved (even though I live in a non-helmet required state)

 

Anyone wear this helmet that previously wore a Vega XTS? I've had the XTS for about 5 years, and it's a little beat up. I'd prefer a lower profile look, but the XTS is also fairly comfortable for my head. Per the Akoury size chart, I would be a large.

 

I went with the AK-1. Love it. The ratchet system is great.

Wore my full face in the rain the other day and it felt like I had a concrete filled bucket on my head. I'll be getting a face mask to throw in the saddlebag for the future.

 

i have been wearing the AK-88 for almost a year and a half and i still love it as much as the day i put it on. I was wearing an old novelty halfy for years and years and the AK-88 sits as low as that one did and i can wear my ball cap underneath and it still sits low. In the winter i wear my wool watch cap underneath it and i am toasty. Anyone who has doubts about this helmet should pick one up ASAP. You will be pleasantly surprised.

 

anyone ever did a side by side against the helmet CRA90 from crazy als or bikers leathers vs the AK88? I see adds all the time smallest in the world.

 

is there an equally thin helmet that is 3/4ths?
